This Privacy Policy explains how JSON Wallet ("we", "us", or "our"), available at https://jsonwallet.com, handles information when you use our website and tools. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

The short version

By default, the JSON data you paste, type, or edit in JSON Wallet never leaves your device. All formatting, validation, comparison, repair and transformation happens locally in your web browser. We do not transmit, collect, log, or store the content of your JSON documents on any server. The only exception is the optional Share feature, which you must actively trigger — seeSharing tabs below. The only other personal-adjacent data involved is the standard analytics and advertising data described below.

Information you provide directly

JSON Wallet does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the tool. The only time you might share information with us is if you choose to email us (for example, for support or feedback). In that case we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it solely to respond to you.

Your JSON content

Any JSON you work with is processed entirely client-side in your browser. To make the tool convenient, your open tabs and their contents are saved in your browser's local storage so they are still there when you come back. This data stays on your device, is never sent to us, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data or closing your tabs within the app.

Sharing tabs

JSON Wallet includes an optional Share feature. When — and only when — you click the Share button on a tab, the contents of that tab are uploaded to our server and stored so that anyone with the generated link can view and edit it. This is the one case where your JSON data leaves your device, and it happens solely because you chose to share it.

• A shared tab is stored for a maximum of 24 hours, after which it is automatically and permanently deleted from our server.
• Anyone who has the share link can read and modify the shared content until it expires. Treat the link like the data itself — only send it to people you trust, and avoid sharing secrets, credentials, or personal data.
• Shares are anonymous: we do not require an account, and the stored data is not linked to your identity beyond what is technically necessary to serve the link.
• Tabs you never share are unaffected and continue to stay entirely on your device.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser local storage to remember your preferences (such as light/dark theme) and your open documents. We and our third-party partners (described below) may also use cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; doing so will not stop the core JSON tools from working.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate — for example, which pages are popular and which features are used. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you view. This information is used to improve the website. Advertising (Google AdSense)

JSON Wallet is free and supported by advertising. We use Google AdSenseto display ads. Google is a third-party vendor that uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads based on your browsing activity.
• You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

Children's privacy

JSON Wallet is a developer tool intended for a general, professional audience. It is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data security

Because your JSON content is processed locally and, unless you use the Share feature, never transmitted to us, there is normally no server-side copy of your data for an attacker to target. When you do share a tab, that copy exists on our server only until it expires (within 24 hours) and is then deleted. The site and all data in transit are served over HTTPS.

Your choices

You can disable cookies in your browser, opt out of personalized advertising using the links above, and clear local storage at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to access or delete personal data. Since we do not maintain user accounts or store your JSON, the personal data we hold is minimal; contact us if you have questions about your rights.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
